SQL Server Developer / Application Support Engineer

Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented SQL Server Developer / Application Support Engineer to support and maintain mission‑critical transaction processing systems. Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $120,000 – $135,000 (depending on experience) Benefits: 401(k), Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, and more. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, triggers, and queries. Analyze and troubleshoot data discrepancies between internal systems and third‑party data sources. Perform root cause analysis for missing, duplicate, or mismatched transaction records. Design and implement database solutions that support high‑volume transaction processing environments. Monitor database performance and recommend improvements to ensure reliability and scalability. Support data auditing, reconciliation, and exception management processes. Develop and maintain applications and services using C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, and Microsoft Visual Studio. Support and troubleshoot Windows Services and backend application processes. Implement software enhancements and bug fixes following established development standards and best practices. Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation. Support end‑to‑end financial transaction processing workflows, including card authorization, transaction validation, settlement and invoicing. Investigate transaction exceptions and system anomalies. Ensure compliance with PCI standards and security best practices. Provide production support for 24/7 operational environments. Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and external partners to resolve issues and improve processes. Qualifications Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server including database design, architecture, and query optimization. Strong programming skills in C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and developing Windows Services. Knowledge of high‑volume transaction processing systems and financial transaction lifecycle. Understanding of card authorization, transaction processing, settlement, invoicing, and exception handling. Familiarity with PCI Compliance standards. Experience with Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis (desired). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of SQL Server development or application support experience. Experience working within financial transaction processing, payment systems, fleet management or related industries preferred.
