divh2Clinical Assistant/h2pThe Clinical Assistant (CA) assists patients and families by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs. The CA provides comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring. In addition, the CA supports and assists nursing personnel and other providers in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The surgical unit is a 72-bed unit that serves a diverse patient population. We provide complex care to patients from birth to early adulthood. We are privileged to deliver world class care for trauma, solid-organ transplant, burns, general surgery, plastics, urology, colorectal, bariatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, epilepsy monitoring, etc./ph3Duties Responsibilities/h3ulliAttends to the individual needs of patients, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, providing comfort and communicating patient needs with other members of the healthcare team./liliPerforms various tasks as assigned, including checking vital signs, weighing patients, applying creams/ointments, applying/changing dressings and collecting specimens./liliMeets patient needs by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to healthcare team members./liliServes as a conduit between patients and other healthcare providers by recording and communicating all issues to medical team members./liliDocuments actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records./liliStores and prepares rooms and medical equipment for patient and healthcare team member use./liliParticipates in departmental committees and projects as assigned./li/ulh3Minimum Qualifications/h3ulliDegrees/liulliHigh School diploma or GED/li/ulliEquivalency/liulliProof of successful completion of health assessment and nursing foundation courses, in addition to basic medical/surgical clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program may be considered in lieu of designation as a CNA, MA and/or EMT./li/ulliLicenses Certifications/liulliDesignation as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), and/or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required/liliCertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association is required./li/ul/ulh3Salary Information/h3pPay is dependent on applicants relevant experience.
