We have a long term role in Janesville WI for a forward-deployed applied AI engineer. This role is 100% onsite. If interested, let me know.
Embedded on-site with mechanical, electrical, chemical, and nuclear engineers at a facility in a regulated, safety-critical domain. Builds AI-assisted workflows engineers will actually use, including document and drawing data extraction, procedure drafting and cross-referencing, schedule integration, and process analysis. Strong emphasis on capability transfer: by the end, the internal team runs the workflows without the contractor.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Strong hands-on applied AI: current LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, coding assistants) for real build work, not just text generation

Python: scripts, small services, data pipelines, API integrations

Applied AI workflow design: prompting, RAG , basic agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop review

Real experience working alongside engineering teams

Background in a safety-critical or regulated field (nuclear, aerospace, defense, energy)
EDUCATION LEVEL: Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, or close)
