Employment Specialist – San Diego, CA Salary: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour. 24 Pay Periods Per Year. Full Time, Non-Exempt. Driving Required. Job Summary The Employment Specialist works with clients experiencing homelessness to help them find and retain sustainable employment opportunities. Responsibilities include conducting workshops, providing ongoing employment‑related case management and support, and networking with business leaders to identify job opportunities. Responsibilities Provide field‑based and onsite employment‑related case management services, including assessment, community integration, employment linkage, procurement of benefits, and other services needed to assist clients in reaching their Individualized Service Plan goals. Conduct employability assessments of participants, assessing readiness for work, physical and mental capabilities, social support network, multicultural and socio‑economic factors, mental health symptoms, and reported barriers to employment when curating individualized job targets. Develop and update Individualized Employment Plans for enrolled participants. Qualifications One (1) year of experience in employment‑related services for a vulnerable population. Three (3) years of experience preferred. Preferred Skills Analytical skills and attention to detail. Collaboration and teamwork. Clear communication, both verbal and written. Creativity and initiative. Critical thinking and problem solving. Strong ethical and professional standards. Mandatory Requirements Employment eligibility verification. CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain. Successful completion of Tuberculosis Test, Background Screening, and Drug Test. Driving Requirements Have reliable transportation. Valid driver’s license. Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties. Ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage.
