This is a safety-sensitive, essential position:

• Must respond during emergencies and severe weather
• Must work assigned shifts and on-call rotations
• Subject to CDL drug and alcohol testing

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and learn to use equipment (backhoes, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, tools)
• Assist with construction, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, stormwater, and fiber systems
• Perform digging, backfilling, site restoration, and clean-up
• Help locate underground utilities and support safe excavation
• Respond to service calls and emergencies
• Use mobile tools to track and document work
• Maintain equipment and follow safety procedures

Work Conditions

• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Exposure to noise, mud, and sewer environments
• On-call rotation required
• Occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response

Education and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• Interest in learning equipment operation and utility systems
• Ability to perform physical work and work outdoors year-round
• Strong reliability and safety mindset
• Team-oriented with willingness to learn

Pay & Benefits

• Operator I: Starting at $17.77/hour - $18.50/hour (DOE)
• Operator II: Starting $21.11/hour - $22.40/hour (DOE)

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver's license required
• CDL (tank + air brake) must obtain within 1 year (training supported): Start as Operator I
• CDL obtained? Start as Operator II
• Additional certifications provided on the job (water/sewer, confined space, flagger, CPR/AED)
