Licensed Psychiatric TechnicianThe Licensed Psychiatric Technician, under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides nursing care to psychiatric patients by implementing and evaluating the established plan of care; carrying out assigned tasks; working collaboratively with members of the nursing and multidisciplinary team.Salary: $30.67 - $40.48 HourlyJob QualificationsCPR - BLS through AHA or ARC REQUIREDCalifornia Psychiatric Technician Licensure REQUIREDAt least 6 months experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting or equivalent - REQUIREDThe Licensed Psychiatric Technician/Senior Licensed Psychiatric Technician must have a working knowledge of:Group dynamicsPsychological functioning and deviations from normalGrowth and development throughout the life spanTechniques of therapeutic communicationDrug administrationManagement of assaultive behaviorRead documents written in standard English textWrite legibly in grammatically correct EnglishSpeak to patients/families and colleagues using appropriate English grammarUse techniques of therapeutic communicationObserve and report patients' behaviorEstablish written goals and objectives for each activityPlan and implement individual, large and small group programs/activitiesEvaluate patients' strength and problem areasModify and/or adapt group techniques to improve individual and/or group treatment outcomesPhysically participate in patient activitiesPhysically apply holds, restraints and protective devicesDemonstrated ability to provide individual and group activities to psychiatric patients on an acute psychiatric inpatient
