Job Summary SMSI is seeking a Senior-Level Cost Estimator with Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) experience to support one of our clients in Oak Ridge, TN . This position will be based at the client’s Oak Ridge office and will provide cost-estimating expertise in support of their project needs. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates in accordance with client procedures, standards, and requirements. Integrate cost estimates with project schedules and supporting cost narratives. Develop accurate, reasonable, and realistic estimates supported by thorough basis-of-estimate documentation. Utilize project schedules, the Basis of Estimate (BOE), and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) data dictionaries to develop and maintain estimates. Collaborate with engineers to develop estimates that align with the proposed technical approach and P6 activities. Identify required resources and coordinate with Supply Chain to obtain current, accurate pricing and resource information. Partner with Schedulers to ensure estimated resources are properly loaded onto the appropriate project activities. Participate in estimate reviews and incorporate feedback, comments, and revisions as required. Required Skills/ Abilities Minimum ten years of experience developing estimates for engineering, construction, or performance management baselines. Specific expertise and experience developing estimates in a relevant area of the scope of work (e.g., electrical). Reviews work for completeness as required by project specifications and scope definitions. Candidate must have strong problem solving, analysis and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills. U.S. Citizenship Education A four-year degree is preferred. Candidates who do not meet the formal education requirements may be considered based on additional years of relevant experience.
