Job Description

This role provides hands-on facilities support by performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep for an assigned warehouse facility. The Facilities Technician I ensures the building remains safe, secure, and well-maintained by troubleshooting basic systems, performing routine preventive maintenance, and assisting with general labor needs throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the facility on a regular basis to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
• Troubleshoot basic power issues, HVAC systems and controls, and mechanical systems under established guidelines.
• Perform general and preventive maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing work, and coordination with vendors as needed.
• Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as required to maintain proper illumination throughout the facility.
• Move and reposition office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested to support operational needs.
• Use appropriate power tools and hand tools safely to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
• Document work performed and communicate maintenance needs or issues to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• Follow safety procedures and facility guidelines while performing all maintenance and general labor activities.

• 0–2 years of experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing facility in a general labor, general production, or facilities maintenance role.
• Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate power tools and other basic maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and perform accurate, thorough work.
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, vendors, and other facility users.
• Basic ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance issues.

• Experience performing general maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry and plumbing.
• Experience supporting facilities maintenance in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Comfort with performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and transporting furniture, equipment, and materials.
• Willingness to follow established safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. You will work on-site during first shift, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and moving furniture, machinery, and materials throughout the facility. You will use power tools, hand tools, and basic maintenance equipment while following all safety guidelines and facility procedures. Appropriate work attire should support safe, comfortable movement in a warehouse setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $21.30 - $21.30/hr.
