Elementary School Teacher (2026-2027 School Year)
The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for implementing the District's instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated in accordance with District goals, policies and procedures. The Elementary School/Middle School Teacher collaborates with other members of the school community in their efforts to prepare students to increase their academic performance to meet state standards. All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate in a clear and respectful manner, champion the needs of our students and drive continuous improvement.
The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for:
- Teaching in accordance with staff assignment.
- Displaying effective teaching practices.
- Administering the classroom to create an environment conducive to learning.
- Cooperating with school personnel in providing for student welfare.
- Initiating communications with parents.
- Cooperating with appropriate program director, department chair, and all other school personnel.
- Exemplifying professionalism in behavior and performance.
The Elementary School Teacher must maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment.
