Job Title Clinical Assistant / Associate Professor, Division of Physical Therapy Department Medicine | Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Position Overview This is a clinical faculty member who will teach in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the Assistant or Associate Professor-Clinical rank. The initial appointment is for 5 years and may be renewed in 3‑to‑5‑year terms based on continued need and annual reviews. We seek candidates with physical therapy teaching and practice experience in neurology, geriatrics, clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis, pediatrics, or clinical education administration; ideally, candidates will cover more than one area. Candidates must have appropriate educational preparation to teach within our DPT program, with a PhD, EdD, or equivalent preferred. Track and Rank Track: Clinical faculty; non‑tenure Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor – Clinical Language Requirements: English Sponsorship offered Performance Objectives Successful candidates must: Teach DPT students in‑person and online in one of the identified need areas listed above; Contribute to our graduate programs (MS or PhD) in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences; Mentor students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles; Mentor students completing case study projects in the DPT program; Produce scholarship through a focused program of research and scholarship; Contribute high‑level service to the program, school, college, university, and professional organizations; Balance responsibilities in a 65% teaching, 10–25% scholarship, 10–25% service model. Education and Experience Requirements Required Doctoral degree in physical therapy (or bachelor's or master's plus an earned academic doctorate). Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in the State of Ohio. Evidence of strong teaching ability, including experience with online learning management systems. Ability to mentor graduate & professional students. Clinical expertise in neurology, geriatrics, clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis, pediatrics, or clinical education administration. Desired Earned academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, DHSc). ABPTS certified specialist in a relevant field of physical therapy.
