Civil Engineer I

We are seeking a Civil Engineer I to support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects. This entry-level role is suited to a motivated engineering professional who is eager to develop technical expertise while contributing to safe, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, you will assist with projects involving site development, roads, drainage, utilities, grading, and other public or private infrastructure.


Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, technical reports, and cost estimates. You will assist with site investigations, surveying coordination, design development, permitting, and construction support. The role will also involve reviewing contractor submissions, responding to technical queries, monitoring progress against plans, and helping verify that work complies with approved designs, applicable codes, and health and safety requirements. You may participate in site visits, project meetings, inspections, and coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.


Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline and have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles. Familiarity with design and drafting software, spreadsheets, engineering calculation tools, and applicable technical standards is desirable. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or project management systems would be an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, sound organisational ability, and a willingness to learn are essential. Candidates should be able to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively, and demonstrate professional judgement when addressing technical issues. Eligibility for, or progress toward, professional engineering registration is welcomed. A valid driving licence and the ability to travel to project or construction sites may be required.
