About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: Valid RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Basic Emergency Department level 3 semi/stroke receiving center experience Description: 34-bed emergency department with patients of all ages and diagnoses. Basic Emergency Department level 3 semi/stroke receiving center with no trauma and a 4:1 patient ratio. Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Requirements include valid California RN Licensure and several certifications. Experience in emergency care is essential, demonstrating proficiency in managing a wide range of acute conditions. Skills in areas such as abdominal pain, asthma management, and triage are beneficial. Familiarity with the management of patients experiencing respiratory distress, drug overdose, or mental health crises is expected. Candidates should be prepared to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Understanding of patient care procedures, including blood product administration and IV management, is crucial. A focus on care for various patient age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, is integral to this role.
