Overview
Registered Nurse – PCU travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 08/17/2026. Duration: 8 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,352–$2,437. Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week). Setting: inpatient care across ICU, Step-Down Unit, Med-Surg, Day Stay Unit, PACU, and ER, with responsibility for coordination of patient flow, assessment, and timely interventions. This assignment offers cross-unit experience and opportunities to apply a broad nursing skillset while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate nursing care for patients across ICU, Step-Down, Med-Surg, Day Stay, PACU, and ER, following each unit’s protocols.
- Maintain current competencies for all units and apply unit-specific procedures as required.
- Assess patient status, develop and implement care plans, monitor responses, and adjust as needed.
- Administer medications and therapies, manage lines, drains, and equipment per policy.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the health care team; participate in rounds, handoffs, and care conferences.

Requirements
- Active, California RN license (or eligibility) and ability to obtain/maintain credentialing.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- 1+ year of RN experience in one or more of the following: ICU, Step-Down, Med-Surg, Day Stay, PACU, or ER.
- Education: nursing degree (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred.
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts and function across multiple units in a fast-paced environment.
