Overview
Registered Nurse – OR (Travel) in San Luis Obispo, California. This 13-week travel assignment starts 08/31/2026, offering a guaranteed 40 hours per week and a weekly pay range of $534-$562. Shift: 16 hours per day, days. Work setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This perioperative nursing role supports the operating room team, circulating during procedures and protecting patient safety throughout the perioperative phase.

Responsibilities
- Circulate in the operating room during surgical procedures and assist surgeons and the anesthesiology team.
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety throughout perioperative care.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and ensuring monitors and equipment are ready; participate in pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care planning and assessment.
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials and manage instrument/equipment flow.
- Access and document pertinent patient information in the medical record (EPIC) and communicate with the team as needed.
- Support life safety, emergency preparedness, and environment of care standards; participate in turnover and post-procedure activities as required, including tissue handling documentation.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice) – Required
- ADN or equivalent nursing degree; BSN preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience – Required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – Required
- EPIC experience – Required
- OR experience in Orthopedic, Neuro, and Trauma cases – Required
- CNOR certification – Preferred
