Shipping ClerkJet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial aircraft, engines, and parts as well as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the aviation industry. This position is located at the Kansas City International Airport Area, in the former TWA Overhaul Base facility. We are looking for a motivated, high-energy team member to join our Materials Operations Team.A Shipping Clerk will process outbound shipments (pick product, print packing slip, paperwork, and labels, package materials properly, load outbound product to carrier), ensure customers and internal team receive top-notch service and on time delivery, provide visual inspection of outbound orders for accuracy, noting discrepancies and escalating as appropriate, and investigate problem orders to arrive at timely resolution and meet customer requirements.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Handling aircraft parts in accordance with the Jet Midwest Quality Assurance manualPreparing aircraft parts for shipmentCleaning aircraft parts, as requiredComplies with written and oral instructionsExamining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and proceduresEnsuring correct shipment of international orders and hazardous material ordersMay be required to train othersCross trained on Receiving and Cycle CountBecome forklift certifiedBecome Repair and Sales Order qualifiedBecome Hazmat trained and qualifiedPerforms other job duties as assignedAttention to detailPulling, packing, and scanning ordersHaving the ability to work independently and within a teamRegular interaction and coordination with team members at all levels of our supply chainInteraction with our Carpentry ShopEntrepreneurial, challenging, competitive, flexible, fast-paced, and funCollaborative and growth-mindedEducation and experience:A High School diplomaExperience in Shipping or Materials ManagementThe ability to effectively communicate orally and in writingDemonstrated ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealings with co-workersEffective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsPhysical demands and work environment:While performing the responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk, you will be seated at a desk, using a phone and computer, for much of your workday. When fulfilling job duties, physical requirements may include walking long distances, crouching, crawling, standing on ladders or scaffolds, using hoists and lifts, using precision instruments, and other necessary hand tools requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity. These job duties may be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment, or outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (when safe). The noise level is typically low to moderate, as consistent with a warehousing environment. At times, some lifting may be required, up to 50 lbs.
