Job Details Job Location: Hospital - Leesburg, FL 34748 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $15.00 Job Shift: Day Job Purpose The Food Services Specialist is to work as assigned within the Dietary Department to prepare, serve, and/or deliver food to Inpatient clients, Board meetings, residential units, and other staff functions. This employee is also responsible for kitchen sanitation and cleanliness including dishes, pots/pans, washing and routine cleaning of the dietary equipment, floors, and storage area. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual meal plans. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with nutritionists and dietitians to develop and modify menus that meet the nutritional needs of clients. Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of food supplies, to ensure adequate availability of ingredients and materials. Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and service. Monitor food service operations to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction. Implement and adhere to food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items. Coordinate with other departments to support special events and catering needs within the facility. Maintain accurate records of food service activities, including meal counts, inventory logs, and compliance reports. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices. Qualifications Required Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Minimum of one year's experience preferred but not required. Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff and clients. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to adapt to varying dietary needs and restrictions. Proficiency in basic computer skills for inventory management and reporting.
