The Company reserves the right to modify this information at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.Equal Opportunity EmployerResponsibilitiesSummary:The Groundskeeper effectively maintains the outside grounds of the facility by moving soil, equipment, and materials, digging holes, mowing grass, and removing trash.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:The Groundskeeper digs holes for plants and trees.The Groundskeeper mixes fertilizer or lime with dirt in bottom of holes to enrich soil, places plants or trees in holes, and adds dirt to fill holes.Attaches or removes wires from planted trees to stakes to support trees.Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances.Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck. Hauls or spreads topsoil.Waters lawns, trees, and plants.Spreads straw over seeded soil to prevent movement of seed and soil.Builds forms for concrete borders.Mixes and pours cement for garden borders.Places decorative stones and plants flowers in garden areas.Mows lawns.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training in a janitorial or groundskeeper capacity.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
