About the Position

Job Title: Med Surg Acute Telemetry RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 2 years of recent relevant experience in MedSurg/Telemetry License: RN - Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years RN experience in MedSurg/Telemetry - Previous experience with electronic health records Description: Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. Includes direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in the assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through effective communication. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience. Conducts patient and family assessments encompassing physiological, spiritual, and emotional areas. Collaborates with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and coordinate daily patient care plans. Ensures a patient-centric plan of care with continuity of care. Communicates the patients' plan of care to co-workers and during shift changes. Provides competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with policies and standards of care. Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for each patient and their families. Delegates tasks appropriately to team members based on legal scopes of practice and individual capabilities. Communicates treatment plans clearly to patients and families, ensuring a collaborative understanding. Documents and updates all treatment information in the patients' electronic health records accurately. Monitors patient care interventions, assesses therapies, evaluates outcomes, and intervenes as warranted. Conducts ongoing education for patients and their families to ensure optimal care from admission through transitions. Reassesses, evaluates, and adjusts the plan of care as needed based on patients' responses. Reports safety or compliance concerns and participates in safety events to prevent future occurrences. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff. Orients nursing and patient care support staff upon request as needed. Develops and implements formal teaching and transition planning that includes the patient and family in care. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required. Demonstrated competence in nursing theories, concepts, and practices is needed. Possesses strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Effective communication skills are essential for engaging team members, patients, and families. Physical activities and requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
