Maintenance Tech II (3rd shift)

Maintenance TechnicianPerforms preventive maintenance and minor maintenance and repair work on production machines and equipment and on the buildings. Assist Maintenance Mechanics on general installation, maintenance and repair work. Use various hand tools and operate simple machines. Perform simple carpentry, plumbing and building repairs.Essential Duties And Responsibilities•Assist and work under the guidance of Maintenance Mechanics or the supervisor in the installation, maintenance and repair of all types of machines, equipment and plant facilities. Personally perform preventive maintenance, electrical, minor maintenance and repair work.•Reviews blueprints and performs ordinary carpentry, plumbing, building and grounds repair and maintenance as needed.•Load and unload machines and equipment and set in place as directed, haul materials for mechanics utilizing lift trucks, hoists and other available materials handling equipment. Assist in relocating current machines and equipment.•Perform routine preventative maintenance and servicing tasks such as oiling, greasing, inspecting equipment and making simple adjustments.•Use hand tools and ordinary shop equipment such as the drill press, power saw, and pipe-threading machine.•Maintains all reporting documents in relation to preventive maintenance, scrap, quality and work related downtime.•Perform basic soldering skills to construct cables and wiring harnesses. Soldering skills will be required to make component level PC board repairs as instructed by supervisor.•Fabricate and wire system control enclosures according to print and as directed by supervisor.•Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.•Perform routine maintenance and report any repair needed in timely manner.•Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.•Comply with all company rules, safety policies and procedures.•Ability to continually prioritize tasks to be completed as required.•Self-starter and multi-task oriented. Ability to read/ comprehend blueprints and follow instructions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be able to work in a team environment and participate, contribute and support all team. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.Language SkillsAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization. Also, must be able to follow instructions, read and prepare short correspondence, and memos.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Efficient in problem solving; ability to address obstacles and adapt accordingly.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for the entire shift. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Proper lifting techniques required.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving machining equipment, moving mechanical parts, dirt, oil, grease, metal shavings, and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. In general, the noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud with exposures ranging from 80db to more than 100 db, at certain times.Specified safety equipment shall be used at all times while operating equipment and, as mandated, while performing tasks within this position. PPE is to be used as mandated for employee safety.
