Accountant I

Position Summary With direct supervision, the Accountant I assists more senior accounting professionals to coordinate and administer accounting initiatives at a local level. Day-to-day responsibilities include the application of accounting principles, analysis of information, and preparing financial / cost accounting reports. This role will have no direct reports. Essential Functions Completes assigned daily general ledger entries and other financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles so that the general ledger is accurate and up-to-date Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial data including income statement and balance sheet Collects and compiles simple financial information and assist senior accountant to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and accounting statements for managers Reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and fillings Answers standard accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations Complies with all accounting principles and all relevant regulations, laws, and standards Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential Qualifications Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Foundational understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS awareness is a plus) Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (sorting, formulas, pivot tables a plus) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Good communication skills and willingness to learn Come join the Parker Aerospace Team!
