Departmental Overview UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design (CED) offers an environment to collaborate and innovate with others committed to creating a welcoming home for design & research excellence toward environmental resilience and equity. CED is comprised of faculty, students and staff with an impressive set of backgrounds and talents. We believe in the importance of supporting an inclusive environment that values community and builds its strength from a diversity of views and expertise. There are approximately 50 faculty, 90 adjunct and unit 18 faculty, 1250 undergraduate and graduate majors, and approximately 50 total staff. The college budget is approximately $33M. The College of Environmental Design (CED) is a multifaceted with three departments (architecture, city & regional planning, and landscape architecture & environmental planning) and an institute that holds degree programs (Institute of Urban and Regional Development); undergraduate, professional graduate and research doctoral degree programs; a suite of highly regarded summer design institutes; widely recognized environmental design archives; computing and fabrication facilities; and a building with an auditorium, classrooms, studios, labs, research centers, library, archives and a café. The Stewardship Analyst is a critical support role within the Development and Alumni Relations team at the College of Environmental Design. The position is integral to donor stewardship and alumni relations efforts, including development communications and events. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Development and Alumni Relations, the position is designed to provide administrative support and project management for the team. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: August 24, 2026 Responsibilities Lead CED’s stewardship program, including writing and designing custom donor stewardship reports and program impact reports, establishing CED’s stewardship e-campaign as well as creating and managing the CED stewardship calendar. Responsibilities include managing the CED acknowledgment program and building out the program to include giving society thank you letters and the first time donor program. This position oversees the coordination of the student awards stewardship process in partnership with CED departments. Serve as liaison for University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) on endowed chair reporting, fellowship/scholarship reporting, the acknowledgment service program, and CED point person for UDAR Donor Relations gatherings. Lead development communications initiatives, including executing written and e-communications via marketing cloud emails, developing donor notecards, managing CED giving pages on give.berkeley.edu, and supporting development and distribution of D+AR alumni communications. Provide D+AR event support, including logistics from coordinating vendors to creating and sending invitations, managing RSVPs, preparing event briefings, printing nametags, sending post event thank you emails and surveys, event attendance to the university database. Provide administrative support for D+AR team, including Bear Buy and ERSO purchases, international travel arrangements, donor meeting logistics, preparation of donor briefings, contact report uploads to the university database, alumni list request pulls, fundraising results reporting, and oversight of the D+AR online tools and accounts, including Asana, Paperless Post, department email and Google drives. Engage in professional learning and growth opportunities, and actively contribute to a team environment that fosters and promotes a culture of inclusion within the unit and at CED. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques. Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies. Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills. Skills in maintaining confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of computer and database systems to facilitate research, pull data, and to prepare donor reports and proposals. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of fundraising/philanthropy and donor relations concepts, principles, and practices. Knowledge of the UC Berkeley campus, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements, issues of concern and infrastructure. Experience working in Adobe, Canva, or other design software. Experience working in CADS, Salesforce, or similar database systems. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $36.88 to $51.20 hourly; the full pay range for this title (FUNDRAISER 2 NEX) is $36.88 to $65.52 hourly. This is a 100% FTE career position eligible for full benefits. This position is FLSA Non-exempt and paid biweekly.
