Details Inpatient MS/Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients along with higher acuity med-surg cases Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis Unit performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15 Every other weekend coverage required Night staffing ratio of 1:6 Uses Omnicell medication system and Epic EMR Floating required to other units and campuses based on census needs and demonstrated competencies Option for a 13 to 26 week contract length Requirements Active TN or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a similar unit required Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required Previous charge nurse experience required Prior travel nurse experience required Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and PICC line management Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry Experience managing continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use Additional Information First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Orientation occurs every Monday and includes an annual compliance requirement Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials Floating to other qualified units or campuses is expected based on facility census needs Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, though night shift candidates for this specialty may qualify at 50 miles from the contracted campus American Traveler Job ID P-748061.
