Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

What You ll Bring to the Table: Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least 2 years of recent clinical practice Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, wound cauterization, vessel packing, and hemostasis Skilled in assisting with patient positioning, clamp and suture placement, skin closure, and intraoperative care Experience working with robotic surgical systems highly preferred Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Current NY State License, BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications Ability to work collaboratively across surgical and medical units, including General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedics Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with Epic charting systems Flexibility to perform in both surgical first assist and floor care settings Ability to assist with rounding, progress notes, managing orders, and discharges Comfort with flexible scheduling, including weekends and weeknight call rotations Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor s or higher degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution Minimum of 2 years recent perioperative or surgical floor experience Robotics experience is highly preferred Other Requirements: Certification and licensure must be up to date and verifiable Ability to work full-time, including 4-day 10-hour shifts, with some weekend and evening call coverage Must adhere to all hospital dress code, hygiene, and safety protocols, including conservative hair and jewelry standards Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional environment Take the next step in your surgical care career and join a facility recognized for excellence, including Level 1 Perinatal Center, Primary Stroke Center, and DNV accreditation!
