REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Position Title: Refrigeration Technician Location: Food Service Position Type: Maintenance/Operations Hours: 8 Hours, Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Calendar: 260-Day Posting: AP6572 Job Overview Responsible for repairing, maintaining, installing, troubleshooting and performing preventative/planned maintenance of district mechanical equipment including commercial coolers, freezers, dishwashers and other commercial food equipment in the Food and Nutrition Services Department. Education Required High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational/Trade school certification in HVAC and refrigeration field or five years of recent experience in HVAC/Refrigeration field. Licenses, Certifications or Training Required within 90 days EPA Recognized Refrigerant Recovery License DDC Control System Training/Certification Low Voltage and/or Pneumatic Controls Training/Certification WA Class IV Boiler License within 6 months of hire date Experience Required Five years recent, successful working experience in private enterprise or government agencies as a Low Temperature Refrigeration Technician, or completion of an approved trade school or apprenticeship program and three years working experience as a journeyman in related job functions. Experience in refrigeration components, controls, and operations. Demonstrated leadership skills. Additional Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required Valid Washington State Driver's License and evidence of insurability. Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance. Pre-employment physical required upon consideration for the position (no cost to applicant). Candidate must achieve a minimum combined score of 70% on the scored interview questions, practical essay, and resume review to be deemed to have met minimum qualifications for the position.
