Catering Sales & Events Manager

The all-new Cambria Hotel Lake Placid is seeking a motivated, service-driven Catering Sales & Event Manager that will be responsible for contracting and executing events to grow our market share of weddings, and other social events. This position also coordinates all event service, banquet, and event technology operations. Core area of responsibility is detailing and planning social, group and corporate events and assisting with Sales administration Good written, verbal and negotiation skills are required, and you must be strong, persuasive and possess entrepreneurial strengths.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains long-term relationships with venues wedding planners and potential social event clients by providing excellent customer service and networking. to uncover other decision makers.
• Responsible for responding to RFP’s and in-bound wedding and social inquiries in accordance with established corporate guidelines.
• Quote pricing, meeting with clients and hotel department managers to plan function details, space requirements, food service and decor.
• Ability to follow set guidelines for preparing contracts and other procedural commitments.
• Comply with corporate guidelines, sales standards, and procedures regarding sales activities and calls.
• Maintains detailed information of all sales activity in the property's CRM system.
• Responds to guest inquiries and coordinates special arrangements and requests.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of direct hospitality or hotel sales and catering experience
• Bachelors degree and/or equivalent level of education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as a team player with excellent guest relations skills.
• Maintains professional working relationship and promotes open lines of communication with managers, team members, and other departments.
• Energetic, persuasive, and well organized.
• Ability to negotiate, prioritize and multi-task.
• Self-motivated and goal oriented.
