Logistics Manager Management Brooksville, FL, US 1 Attachments 6 days ago Requisition ID: 1063 Job title: Logistics Manager Department: Operations / Supply Chain Location: Brooksville, FL or Columbia, SC (can be based at either facility; manages function for both) Reports to: VP Operations FLSA status: Exempt Position type: Full-time, on-site Direct reports: 15–20 warehouse and logistics staff (scaling with SC launch) Travel: Regular travel between warehouse locations Date modified: May 13, 2026 We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee daily operations across two warehouse locations. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, including truck scheduling, freight cost optimization, warehouse productivity, and team leadership. The Logistics Manager will lead a team of 15–20 employees and play a key role in driving operational efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction across both sites — partnering closely with the SC Plant Manager on inbound silica and finished‑goods flow, and with corporate operations in Florida on retail commitments. Why this role matters On‑time, in‑full delivery to our retail customers depends on what happens at our dock doors. This role keeps freight cost in check, customer commitments met, and warehouse teams running clean — the difference between scaling on plan and scaling at a loss. Champion Black Diamond Coatings' core values Embody and actively promote the company's core values across both warehouse locations. Build a culture that reflects the BDC brand standard: customer‑first, performance‑driven, and accountable. Motivate and develop a workforce that takes ownership and continuously raises the bar on accuracy, speed, and safety. Set the tone for the dock floor — every load, every label, every count. Operations and warehouse management Oversee daily operations of two warehouse facilities, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, inventory accuracy, and shipping. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency, safety, and productivity across both locations. Ensure both facilities remain organized, compliant with OSHA standards, and audit‑ready at all times. Leverage logistics software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools to monitor performance, automate processes, and make informed decisions — with a focus on systems integration. Run a fluent warehouse operation: receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and labeling — including inventory accuracy, FIFO, just‑in‑time, replenishment, slotting, and cycle counting. Transportation and freight management Schedule inbound and outbound trucks to optimize dock utilization, minimize detention, and meet customer delivery commitments. Source, negotiate, and book freight (LTL, FTL, parcel, and intermodal as applicable) to secure the most cost‑effective and reliable carrier options. Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and 3PL partners to ensure service levels and competitive pricing. Continuously analyze freight spend, lane performance, and carrier scorecards to identify cost‑saving opportunities. Resolve transportation issues such as delays, damages, and claims in a timely, professional manner. Team leadership and people management Directly manage a team of 15–20 warehouse associates, leads, and support staff across both locations. Lead recruiting and hiring efforts in partnership with HR, including interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new team members. Develop and deliver training programs covering equipment operation, safety, warehouse processes, and company policies. Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Administer corrective action and performance improvement plans consistent with company policy and applicable employment law. Build schedules and manage staffing levels to align with workload, seasonality, and budget. Foster a positive, accountable, and team‑oriented culture across both warehouses. Financial discipline and continuous improvement Manage the logistics and warehouse operating budget, including labor, freight, supplies, and equipment. Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives across freight, labor utilization, and warehouse processes. Partner with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Finance) to support business objectives. Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean, 5S, or similar methodologies. Key performance indicators Performance in this role will be measured against the following metrics: On‑time, in‑full (OTIF) shipment performance to retail customers. Order accuracy and shipping error rate. Inventory accuracy (cycle count variance) and inventory turns. Freight cost as a percentage of revenue / cost per pound shipped. Dock utilization and carrier detention costs. Labor productivity (units per labor hour) and overtime as a percentage of total hours. Warehouse safety performance — recordable incident rate and OSHA compliance. Employee retention and engagement metrics. Job qualifications Required Experience: 5+ years of progressive logistics, transportation, or warehouse management experience, including multi‑site responsibility. Leadership: 3+ years of direct people‑management experience leading teams of 10 or more. Freight knowledge: Strong knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, parcel), rate negotiation, and carrier management. Systems: Working knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP systems; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Skills: Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams; strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills; comfortable making decisions in a fast‑paced environment. Travel: Ability to travel regularly between both warehouse locations. Preferred Experience managing freight RFPs and carrier bid processes. Forklift certification and ability to train others on safe equipment operation. Familiarity with DOT regulations and warehouse safety compliance. Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, or similar professional certification. Experience supporting retail / big‑box customer commitments (Lowe's, The Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon). Military veteran background. Strong leadership presence — able to motivate and manage a team across multiple sites. Analytical and detail‑oriented thinker who makes data‑driven decisions. Motivated, dependable, accountable, and results‑driven. Strong problem‑solving skills — identifies and resolves issues quickly, gathers and analyzes information, develops alternative solutions. Customer‑service mindset — understands that retail customers and internal teams depend on logistics performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation with carriers and brokers. Self‑starter, capable of operating with significant autonomy while staying tightly aligned with operations leadership. Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills. Mechanically inclined; able to operate a forklift and understand warehouse equipment at a working level. Maintains a professional appearance and ensures proper personal protective equipment is worn at all times. Required to lift up to 25–50 pounds regularly. Required to walk warehouse floors for extended periods. Required to use hands for handling, feeling, and operating equipment. Required to reach with hands and arms, bend, lift, and climb. Required to talk and hear clearly. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment Work is performed in both office and warehouse environments, with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and freight handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors). Protective clothing or equipment is required including gloves, steel‑toe boots, hearing protection, and protective eyewear where applicable. Noise level is moderate to high in warehouse zones. Schedule may require flexibility, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support operational needs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
