Senior Staff AccountantLocation: Portage, INCompensation: $72,000-$83,000Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on, proactive Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team on a temporary basis. This individual will play a key role in supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, accounts receivable activities, financial reporting, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can quickly contribute with minimal supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform balance sheet account reconciliations, including:GR/IR reconciliations and clearingIntercompany account reconciliationsAccounts Payable and Accounts Receivable reconciliationsPrepare month-end journal entries, including unbilled Accounts Receivable analysis and related entries.Maintain and update trial balance mappings.Cross-train on Accounts Receivable billing processes to provide support during month-end close.Assist with post-close Accounts Receivable activities, including:Contacting customers regarding outstanding balancesUpdating collection statusesIdentifying potential bad debt accountsAssisting with bad debt write-off recommendationsSupport the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.Assist with the annual Workers’ Compensation Audit.Collaborate with the accounting team on special projects and process improvements as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.Experience supporting Accounts Receivable processes and collections.Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is highly preferred.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision.
