HR Manager / HR Business Partner

This job is available for anyone in North America! proMX is looking for a hands‑on HR Manager / HR Business Partner to establish and strengthen HR operations across North America while leading recruitment for our growing Microsoft Business Applications practice. This is a practical build-and‑execute role. The successful candidate will create scalable HR processes, support managers and employees across Canada and the United States, and personally manage recruitment for specialized profiles within Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot, consulting, presales, sales and software delivery. Key responsibilities: Talent acquisition and workforce growth Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake meetings and market mapping through sourcing, interviews, offer negotiation and onboarding. Recruit specialist Microsoft profiles, including Dynamics 365 functional consultants, solution architects, developers, presales consultants, project managers and commercial roles. Build talent pipelines across Canada and the United States, including active and passive candidates within the Microsoft partner and consulting ecosystem. Translate business requirements into clear job descriptions, structured assessments, interview scorecards and evidence‑based hiring recommendations. Partner closely with hiring managers to define realistic profiles, challenge unclear requirements and keep recruitment processes moving. Track recruitment activity, pipeline health, time to hire, source effectiveness and offer outcomes. AI‑enabled recruitment and HR Use approved AI tools to improve sourcing, market research, job-description creation, personalized outreach, interview preparation, candidate summaries and recruitment reporting. Design reusable prompts, templates and AI‑supported workflows that improve speed and consistency without replacing human judgment. Evaluate where AI and automation can improve onboarding, employee communication, HR documentation, workforce planning and recurring administrative work. Validate AI‑generated outputs for accuracy, fairness, relevance and potential bias before they are used in employment decisions. Protect candidate and employee data and ensure responsible, transparent use of AI in HR processes. Support managers and the HR team in adopting practical AI‑enabled recruitment methods. HR operations and business partnering Build and maintain practical HR processes, SOPs, templates and documentation for the North American organization. Coordinate the employee lifecycle, including contracts, onboarding, probation, employee changes, leave, performance cycles and offboarding. Act as the first HR contact for employees and managers across Canada and the United States. Support the development and administration of compensation, benefits and people policies in cooperation with internal leadership and external providers. Maintain accurate employee data and documentation in HR systems and provide reliable HR reporting. Support workforce planning, organizational changes, employee relations and day‑to‑day manager guidance. Coordinate with payroll, benefits, legal and other external partners where required. Balance strategic recommendations with direct ownership of operational execution. Required experience and skills Strong experience in both hands‑on recruitment and operational HR, ideally supporting Canada and the United States. Demonstrated experience recruiting technology, consulting or professional‑services profiles. Solid understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, preferably with recruitment experience involving Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure, Microsoft 365 or related partner organizations. Ability to distinguish and assess functional consultants, solution architects, developers, presales professionals and commercial profiles. Experience building or improving HR processes, SOPs, documentation and employee‑lifecycle workflows. Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. HR practices, with the judgment to involve local legal or compliance specialists when required. Practical experience with ATS and HRIS platforms, recruitment analytics and data‑quality management. Confident use of generative AI and automation for recruitment and HR productivity, including effective prompting and critical validation of outputs. Strong stakeholder‑management, communication and organizational skills. Comfortable working independently in an international, remote environment and personally executing the operational work. Excellent written and spoken English. Preferred qualifications Existing network within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform talent market. Experience working for a Microsoft partner, software consultancy, systems integrator or B2B technology company. Experience supporting a growing international organization or establishing a regional HR function. Familiarity with Workday, Dayforce, Zoho Recruit or comparable HR and recruitment platforms. HR qualification such as CPHR, SHRM‑CP/SCP or an equivalent credential. French language skills are an advantage for the Canadian market.
