Operating Room Nurse

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for patient care in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide quality patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplies and equipment are available and prepared for surgical cases.
• Coordinate and communicate with families regarding patient status.
• Maintain and update physician preference cards.
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures.
• Supervise personnel involved in delivering patient care.

Schedule

This position offers a schedule from 06:30 to 15:30, with a 30-minute lunch, five days a week. End times may vary depending on procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior travel experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• No local candidates will be accepted.
