Job Summary

Manages activities of the Clinical Nutrition area to ensure that the nutritional needs of patients and the standards of nutritional care are maintained.

Responsibilities

Determines, coordinates and manages daily staffing assignments and productivity. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Completes performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Collaborates with Food Service team, as well as medical, nursing, and allied health staff for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Assesses patients' nutritional status and needs. Develops and implements care plans, monitors patients' progress and updates interventions. Conducts periodic chart audits. Develops, revises, and implements departmental policies/procedures and quality initiatives. Plans and coordinates nutrition services goals in collaboration with department leadership.

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years as a clinical dietitian. Other Information: Additional Education Info: A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required for those individuals that are registered or have established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023. A minimum of a master's degree is required for those seeking eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians for the first time, on or after January 1, 2024.
