Personal Banker Associate I - Bell Road East (Antioch, TN)

GENERAL FUNCTION Selected candidates will become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. The program concludes with a certification that demonstrates skills necessary to successfully perform a Retail Personal Banker role. The position focuses on using a consultative sales process to identify and meet financial needs of customers and prospects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small‑business products and recommend appropriate solutions using the value proposition. Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews. Engage in cross‑selling to existing customers and outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls and community financial literacy events. Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) and refer customers when appropriate. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals and enhance year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L. Guide CSRs on the sales and referral process and promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism. Act confidently by answering customer questions and owning customer issues. Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all business confidential and adhering to the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Adhere to established policies and procedures when opening/servicing the full range of retail products. Participate in the consumer loan and bank‑card process, owning sourced loans from application through closing. Participate in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed. Keep up to date on retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and reduce risk. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED College degree or equivalent experience that provides transferable skills. Preferred experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer households and small‑business customers and/or cross‑sell to established customers. Ability to analyze credit and financial information using advanced math functions. Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in appearance and verbal/written communication. Strong working knowledge of retail policies and procedures and sound judgment in decision‑making. Must register with the S.A.F.E. Act at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). WORKING CONDITIONS The position is in a normal office environment with frequent computer use. Training requires travel within the affiliate and occasional travel outside the affiliate for classroom sessions. Scheduling flexibility is required. LOCATION Antioch, Tennessee 37013.
