Job Opportunity At Harlingen Medical Center Wound CareShift's Available: DaysEmployment Type: Full TimeHours: 8 hour shiftsLocation: Harlingen Medical Center Wound Care - Harlingen, TXResponsibilities** If you have experience in Wound Care, ICU, ER, Critical Care, Telemetry or Advanced Med Surg you are encouraged to apply! **Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatmentsApply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infectionProvide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatmentEducate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, teach proper care for ostomies and how to manage continence issuesRegularly track the progress of wound healing, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care, and support post-discharge, and provide emotional support to patients managing chronic wounds or ostomiesImplement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital, educate staff on proper wound care protocols and internal policies when neededStay up to date on the latest wound care techniques, products, and research; participate in continuing education and professional development activitiesInteract with community resources to ensure continuity of careClinic nurses provide hyperbaric therapy to appropriate patients (RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided)Qualifications1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.2. BLS upon hire and maintain current.3. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.4. Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).5. Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.6.
