Low-Voltage Systems Electrician — Life Safety, Security & Data

Location: Stoughton, MA

A day in the life

You start your morning in Stoughton reviewing the day’s work orders: a camera expansion in one wing, a fire alarm device add, and commissioning a new badge access door. By mid-morning, you’re pulling and terminating structured cabling, mounting PoE cameras, and setting up access control readers. After lunch, you run code-compliant tests on a fire alarm circuit, document the results, and update the as-builts. A service call comes in—an intermittent video feed—so you troubleshoot the run, isolate the fault, and restore the system. Before you wrap, you sync with the GC and other trades to align schedules, log your maintenance notes, and verify everything meets safety standards.

What you’ll handle

Install and maintain low-voltage systems: security (badge access, cameras), fire alarm, and data communications.
Perform routine inspections and functional testing to confirm compliance with applicable safety codes and standards.
Diagnose and repair issues across low-voltage platforms, delivering timely, effective fixes.
Coordinate with teammates, contractors, and stakeholders to keep projects on track and on schedule.
Accurately document work performed, including maintenance logs and any system modifications.
Keep current with emerging low-voltage technologies and industry practices.

What you bring

Valid Low Voltage Electrician license in the state of Massachusetts.
Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting low-voltage systems.
Solid grasp of electrical codes and safety regulations.
Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Comfort working independently and collaboratively.
Clear written and verbal communication.
