Tax Senior

Reputable, thriving regional CPA firm is in search of a Senior Tax Analyst to join their expanding team. The chosen candidate will maintain a blend of office and remote work, with the option to be based in either West L. A. or Woodland Hills, CA. Duties

Conducts diverse accounting, audit, and tax tasks under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or partner.

Directs and advises assistants, when applicable, in allocated tasks and reviews working papers.

Determines the level of testing needed in an audit and selects transactions for examination.

Prepares and organizes working papers; performs various procedures following generally accepted accounting principles to validate client finances.

Prepares complex tax filings and filings for dissolution or liquidation.

Suggests tax planning concepts to supervisor, manager, or partner.

Drafts routine client correspondence for partner approval and signature; generates comments for management letters.

Supervises staff accountants and assistants, assigns tasks, reviews work, and guides revisions as needed.

Occasional overtime is required year-round. Increased overtime necessary from January 1 to April 15, potentially exceeding 55 hours per week.

Requirements

Three to five (3-5) years of public accounting experience, showcasing advancements in auditing, accounting tasks, and tax knowledge.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a master's degree in accounting.

At least forty (40) hours of continuous professional education annually.

Hold a valid CPA license or be on the path to obtaining the license by passing the state CPA exam.

If licensed, maintain good standing with the AICPA.
