CDL Class A Truck Driver

Entrepreneurial, growing, and reputable Steel Fabricating and Installation Company has an opportunity for you to use your experience as a CDL Class A local driver and to contribute to the strategic development of this organization.  The CDL A Truck Driver will drive a variety of heavy and light duty trucks safely and efficiently delivering and picking up materials and equipment. Local routes, home every night. The CDL A driver must be available to work every other weekend.   

Must be available to work every other weekend / Home Every Night / Great Pay Starting at $28.00 per hour and Depending on Experience

Responsibilities:

·         Transport materials and equipment from the place of origin to assigned destination.

·         Pick-up and drop off flatbed loads and organize goods in an ordered, logical manner.

·         Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck.

·         Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations.

·         Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with vendors, and clients.

·         Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.

·         Communicate with Operations as needed.

·         Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document.

·         Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.

·         Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.

·         Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure)

Qualifications:

·         Must be at least Twenty-Three (23) years of age.

·         High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

·         Valid Class A driver’s license required.

·         Two (2) + years proven experience with tractor-trailer and flatbed driving preferred.

·         Clean driving record with no moving violations.

·         Must pass a background check.

·         Ability in driving heavy, flatbed and light trucks.

·         Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer.

·         Alert, focused, and detail oriented.

·         Ability to lift 75 lbs. at a time.

·         Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

·         Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.

·         An innate sense of direction.

·         Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.

·         High level of composure and good stress management.
