POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Branch Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and programs of the Princeton YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities and equipment’s, risk management, fiscal management, volunteers, staff development, social responsibility initiatives, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
- Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required
- Serves as a member of the Association Leadership Team and supports the overall strategy of
Greater Somerset County YMCA. - Serves as a steward to the development of the branch board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities, policy and program of the branch
- Drives all financial development activities including but not limited to all aspects of the branch annual campaign.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA publicly with a clear focus on developing positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develop and directs branch employees and volunteers.
- Develops, manages, and monitors the branch and service area operating budgets and meets or exceeds budget targets.
- Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch and service area.
- Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and service area mission, goals, and strategies
- Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
- Ensures the cleanliness and safety of branch facilities in partnership with branch facilities staff to assure high standards of maintenance, safety and cleanliness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Collaboration: Champions inclusion activities, strategies, and initiatives. Builds relationships to create small communities. Empathetically listens and communicates for understanding when negotiating and dealing with conflict. Effectively tailors' communications to the appropriate audience. Provides staff with feedback, coaching, guidance and support.
Operational Effectiveness: Provides others with frameworks for making decisions. Conducts prototypes to support the launching of programs and activities. Develops plans and manages best practices through engagement of team. Effectively creates and manages budgets. Holds staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.
Personal Growth: Shares new insights. Facilitates change, models adaptability and an awareness of the impact of change. Utilizes non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performance. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional noise levels associated with working with school-aged children.
This position is fully in office with no opportunities for remote work.
