About the Facility - Hickam AFB
Hickam Air Force Base, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a historic Air Force installation named after aviation pioneer Lieutenant Colonel Horace Meek Hickam. Established in 1935, it played a crucial role in World War II, particularly during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Today, Hickam AFB serves as a joint base with Naval Station Pearl Harbor and is home to Pacific Air Forces headquarters, several active duty and Air National Guard squadrons, and is a key hub for airlift operations in the Pacific region.

Clinical Psychologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Psychologist diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
• Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
• Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
• The Psychologist will be responsible for assessing an individual's mental and emotional health through conducting interviews, tests, collateral sources, and observations.
• Provide counseling and therapy sessions to help individuals overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.
• Conducting research to advance understanding of human behavior and develop new treatment methods is integral to the psychologist's role.
• Shall participate in professional development activities to stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and ethical guidelines.
• The psychologist ensures confidentiality and privacy of client information is paramount in the practice of psychology.
• Performing efficiently in emergency patient situations, following established protocols, remaining calm, and informing appropriate persons while documenting events is crucial.
• Shall maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and preparing such records and reports as may be required is mandatory.

Clinical Psychologist - REQUIREMENTS

• Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
• Experience: Shall be required to demonstrate clinical competency within the past two years as Psychologist.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.
