RN Supervisor, Patient Care – Emergency Services – Encinitas

This is a full time, salaried, night shift position, benefit and annual bonus eligible, located at Scripps Memorial Encinitas. This position is eligible for new hire and relocation incentives up to $7K. Join our 38 bed level III emergency department sits 2 blocks from one of Southern California's most beautiful beaches. The patient care supervisor in the emergency services responsibilities include:

• Ensuring nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety
• Working under the general direction of the patient care manager, the supervisor will share leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans
• Ensuring appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge
• Ensuring the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care

Qualifications:

• Required qualifications: current California RN license, two years applicable clinical experience in an adult emergency department as an RN, one year of recent experience in a leadership role (including charge), current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS for healthcare provider, excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through, ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care, graduate of an accredited program.
• Preferred qualifications: bachelor's degree in nursing CEN – certified emergency nursing.
