Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic AI&T Test Engineer (Assembly, Integration & Test) who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.POSITION SUMMARYSince Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy AI&T Test Engineer specializing in pressure system and leak testing. This role involves hands-on work to ensure test system functionality, conducting risk assessments, support test planning, build, and readiness reviews. The test engineer collaborated with technicians and cross functional engineering teams to build high-quality test systems, analyze performance, and document test results.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESLead and/or support design efforts for new ground support and test systems of space station hardware specifically related to leak and pressure systems testing.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with existing test systems to facilitate rapid iterative testing.Work hands-on to get test systems functional and eliminate barriers to testing.Conduct and assist with test planning, risk assessments, safety and test readiness reviews.Support the use of various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.Lead and support generation of posttest data reviews and test report documentation.Ability to work and collaborate with technicians to build high quality and functional test systemsCommunicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadershipImplementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecyclePerform additional job duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in test engineering or a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Hands-on experience in building, testing, and/or assembling spaceflight hardware.Experience in ANSI/ASNT CP-189, ASNT Standard for Qualification and Certification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel Level II or III preferred.Experience in selecting mechanical components and instrumentation for test systems.Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsUses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challengesDemonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality resultsCore SkillsPassion for space and the missionEntrepreneurial, growth mindsetHigh EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionallyTech-solutioning in using systems and tools to move smarter and fasterCore Competencies:Embody our core values of leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
