IT Support Technician

Location: Detroit, Michigan (Onsite)

Role Overview

The IT Technician is responsible for providing end-user support and ensuring the reliable operation of IT systems within a refining environment. This is a customer-facing role based in a busy office, focused on a walk-up support center delivering in-person IT assistance. The position involves working directly with personnel to resolve technology issues and requires comfort with a refinery setting, adhering to all site safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-person troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and common applications.
• Support Tech Café services, including consumable replacements and hardware swaps.
• Deliver clear and professional communication while resolving issues.
• Escalate and document complex issues as required.
• Install, maintain, and support field IT systems, including specialized laboratory PCs.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Perform software installations and updates.
• Contribute to the knowledge base and process improvement documentation.

Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of IT support experience is required.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in supporting Apple iOS and mobile devices.
• End-user hardware support for Dell and HP PCs.
• Familiarity with the Windows 11 operating system.
• Knowledge of the Office 365 Suite.
• Experience with application, networked printer, and network troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.
