Resident Assistant

Resident Assistant Position available in Ohio for full-time, part-time or PRN shifts as scheduled. Responsibilities Care and Customer Management - 80% Carry out daily plan of care including all aspects of basic daily living and personal care needs. Execute daily activities for residents as scheduled. Serve and assist residents with meals. Provide medication reminders to residents as permitted under Ohio law. Maintain knowledge of assigned resident locations. Listen and respond to the needs of residents and staff members. Monitor residents’ general medical condition and report changes to the Charge Nurse. Administration and Reporting - 15% Maintain current and accurate records through use of computers or other documentation in accordance with company standards. Inform Charge Nurse of supply and equipment needs. Share opinions and observations of departmental operations with Charge Nurse. Attend all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled or as directed. Operations Management - 5% Complete routine light housekeeping and laundry tasks for the unit. Report hazardous conditions to the Charge Nurse. Follow infection control and standard precaution policies, fire and safety policies, and practice good body mechanics. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in a long-term care or other related healthcare setting preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Working Conditions Sitting - up to 8 hours/day Standing - up to 8 hours/day Walking - up to 8 hours/day Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents/patients or equipment/supplies - up to 50 pounds Work weekends, evenings, and holidays - as scheduled Subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, and cuts Work day subject to residents/patients with various disease processes Daily may be exposed to infectious waste, disease, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses Risk Category for Exposure to Bloodborne Diseases - I #J-18808-Ljbffr
