Responsibilities Lead the development and management of detailed schedules, budgets, resource needs, and work plans for technical deliverables on complex, multi-faceted hardware R&D programs. Organize and coordinate efforts across multiple technical and operational teams. Conduct regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives. Ensure timely and effective communication of strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and leadership through reports, dashboards, and presentations. Identify opportunities to accelerate schedules or develop needed technologies. Travel up to 25% for business purposes. Essential Skills 10+ years of experience in technical program management. Experience in product development and supplier management. Proficiency with program management tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira. Strong understanding of risk and opportunity analysis and management processes. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s degree in a STEM field is a plus. background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience managing technology-based projects through the full life cycle. Prior experience with first-of-its-kind, early technology-based products or projects. Resourcefulness and ability to predict and address challenges proactively. Work Environment This role is based in New York, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The position requires 25% travel to locations such as Minneapolis and Broomfield. The work involves a 60% focus on program management and 40% on technical tasks, with a program size involving a multimillion-dollar effort. You will be working primarily with optics, photonics, and hardware, collaborating closely with the fabrication team.
