Assistant Operations Manager

Job Details This role supports the distribution center’s daily operations, ensuring efficient processes, continuous improvement, safety compliance, and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Assist in the efficient day-to-day operations of the distribution center. Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center compared to budget. Create and foster an environment of trust, open two-way communication, and cohesive team effort. Ensure alignment with strategic vision and communicate organizational mission and values to the team. Communicate with team members through regular and frequent meetings. Hold one-on-one meetings with direct reports at least twice a month. Ensure adherence to operational processes, policies, and procedures. Ensure the distribution center meets company standards on appearance, cleanliness, and functionality. Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the distribution center. Facilitate resolution of customer service issues. Verify driver payroll for accuracy. Conduct required physical cycle counts, review discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections. Ensure the use of proper safety equipment and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date. Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts. Follow all company policies and execute company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation. Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations. Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, and terminations when appropriate per company policy. Qualifications Education High School diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience 2+ years related experience preferred Knowledge & Skills Warehouse, logistics, or supply chain knowledge Computer literacy in Microsoft products: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint General warehouse standard operating procedures Basic retail operations Inventory control Safety policies and procedures Financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting Ability to motivate and empower individuals and groups Capacity to identify all aspects of a problem and develop workable solutions Able to adapt to new situations and shift strategies Skillful use of tools, hardware, software, and equipment Adept at collaborating with others to identify problems and develop solutions Ability to evaluate the impact of a business decision on financial statements and well‑being in the long term Physical Demands Lift or move over 100 pounds Sitting frequently Standing frequently Walking frequently Talking frequently Hearing frequently Use of hands and fingers Reaching with hands and arms Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally Sight required for safety Benefits Excellent career growth opportunities through on-the-job training and development programs 401(k) with employer matching Mental health and life resources Medical, dental, prescription, and vision plans Get paid on-demand Base pay or uncapped commission Employee discounts on mattress firm sleep products and accessories Compensation Competitive salary range of $45,000 to $50,000 annually * depending on qualifications and experience.
