WAVY Unpaid Newsroom Intern, Fall 2026 page is loaded## WAVY Unpaid Newsroom Intern, Fall 2026locations: VA, Portsmouthtime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: REQ-41339WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic NEWSROOM INTERN who wants to gain experience in a newsroom including, but not limited to: working the assignment desk; assisting producers with writing and prep for newscasts; working with editors to prep newscasts; working with photographers and reporters in the newsroom and in the field (to include shooting, editing and prep for the final on-air stories).***This is an UNPAID / FOR-CREDIT position for the Fall semester 2026 only.***We are looking for someone who has completed journalism courses, understands journalistic integrity, and has a passion for the field. Familiarity with newswriting software, shooting video for news, and working knowledge of video editing software preferred, but not required. Please include relevant coursework in resume/application.The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other. Before beginning, the intern **\*must be\*** enrolled in a college degree granting program, and **\*will be required\*** to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.12-15 hours per week on site.
