Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Redmond, OR


Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM


Compensation: $23/hour

Position Summary


The Accounts Payable Specialist supports daily accounting operations with a focus on accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role ensures invoices are verified, coded, and processed in alignment with company policies and accounting procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams to keep information flowing smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and enter accounts payable transactions with accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment inquiries.
• Process vendor payments, including check runs and electronic fund disbursements, according to established schedules.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including new vendor setup and ongoing updates.
• Review invoices for proper charges, approvals, and account coding prior to posting.
• Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices.
• Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems for financial documentation.
• Generate routine reports and assist with audits or periodic reviews.
• Support general accounting tasks and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Understanding basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in generating routine financial reports.
• Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and use sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Associate's degree in Accounting or Business preferred.

• 1+ years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or a clerical finance role.
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop strongly preferred.
