Security Guard/Night Concierges

Employment: Full‑time Location: Lake Mary, FL Responsibilities Provide a positive first impression to all who enter the community. Answer and screen all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, routing calls and taking messages as appropriate. Greet all visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Screen and require visitors to sign in at the reception desk and manage entry/exit. Notify residents of visitors. Instruct residents’ visitors according to resident instructions. Assist managers with various clerical responsibilities. Page staff wearing beepers as necessary. Hand out maintenance request forms and pass them onto the Environmental Services Director. Keep the front desk and lobby area neat and organized. Familiarize with and follow all emergency and safety equipment, including security cameras, phones, and life safety systems. Secure all areas of the building, checking for open doors and any unusual activity. Make frequent scheduled rounds of the interior and exterior of the community during the shift and address any issues presented. Respond to emergencies as directed and per policy. Complete assigned housekeeping and light maintenance tasks as assigned. Follow shift task assignments as provided. Understand all safety policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with the Business Office Manager and other staff. Immediately advise the Business Office Manager, Maintenance Director, and General Manager of any changes in the physical and/or mental health of a resident, as well as any physical plant or other safety emergencies. Perform other duties as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma required. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relational skills and ability to relate to a variety of people and personalities. Prior experience working with the public. Requires considerable initiative and judgment. Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities. Must be comfortable with a multi‑line telephone system, answering, taking messages, and transferring calls. Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Experience and ability to handle housekeeping and light maintenance tasks assigned. Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and outside contacts. Customer service orientation. Proven team player. Physically able to bend and reach. Physically able to sit for extended periods of time. Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. Miscellaneous May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising. May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments. Required to work weekends and holidays as assigned. May be required to work shifts other than the one for which hired. May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day). May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B & C viruses. Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents due to mental status. Background, criminal, and drug tests as required by HR policies and procedures. May be asked to submit to random drug testing during employment.
