Communications Specialist

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST CONTRACT | HYBRID | 1-DAY IN-OFFICE | NORTHERN SUBURBS ATLANTA . POSITION OVERVIEW Our client, a growing B2B marketing and communications agency is seeking a proactive and organized Communications Specialist to support a portfolio of nonprofit, government and association clients. This role combines content development, social media, digital marketing, project coordination and administrative support. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, natural problem solver and helpful team player who can manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly and jump in wherever needed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write, edit and proofread newsletters, press releases, emails, presentations, reports and other communications materials
- Create, schedule and monitor social media content while maintaining brand consistency across multiple clients
- Support email marketing campaigns, digital newsletters and website content updates
- Create basic graphics, flyers, presentations and promotional materials using Canva or similar design tools
- Capture photos and videos at events and client activities for marketing and storytelling purposes
- Coordinate communications and logistics for meetings, events, webinars and outreach initiatives
- Maintain project timelines, organize files, track deliverables and support multiple client projects
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, prepare agendas and provide administrative support to agency leadership
- Maintain organized communications records, digital assets and project documentation
- Collaborate with team members across communications, marketing and operations
- Identify problems, recommend solutions and help keep projects moving forward
- Support additional agency and client needs as assigned
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Proactive, helpful and solutions-oriented approach to work
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Canva
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling
- Experience with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact
- Ability to learn new platforms and adapt to changing priorities
- Interest or experience in marketing, public relations, communications or mission-driven work
- Portfolio samples demonstrating writing, social media, design or communications work
- Journalism, public relations, agency or client communications experience
- Photography, video editing or multimedia storytelling experience a plus
- Spanish-language skills
