Cost Accountant

Delta Beverages is a fast-growing THC seltzer company operating in one of the most dynamic categories in consumer packaged goods. As we expand, retail presence and distribution, operational discipline and execution speed are critical to our success. We are building systems that allow us to scale responsibly, move quickly, and deliver consistently across Sales, Marketing, and Operations. This role is foundational to that effort. We are seeking a Cost Accountant to play a critical role in building and scaling our accounting function as the business grows. Reporting to our Controller, this person will focus on developing cost accounting processes, supporting ERP implementation, and owning key areas of the month-end close including revenue, inventory, and COGS. Role Overview The Cost Accountant will play a key role in establishing scalable processes and ensuring accurate accounting for revenue, inventory, and cost of goods sold. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to support strong financial visibility and decision-making. Key Responsibilities Month-End Close (Revenue, Inventory & COGS) Own key components of the close related to revenue, inventory, and COGS Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations (inventory, COGS, revenue-related accounts) Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition across DTC and wholesale channels Analyze and explain gross margin trends across products, channels, and time periods Partner with the Controller to improve close efficiency and reporting accuracy Help build and maintain product costing and inventory processes Support inventory valuation, reconciliations, and periodic physical counts Assist in developing costing methodologies (e.g., landed costs, standard costing) Contribute to SKU-level margin and profitability analysis Partner with operations to better understand cost drivers and inventory flows ERP Implementation & Systems Partner with Controller to support ERP implementation and related system improvements Assist with data validation, testing, and process design Help ensure alignment between operational systems and financial reporting Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy Revenue Accounting Support revenue recognition across DTC and wholesale channels Reconcile payment processors, settlements, and cash activity Assist with accounting for returns, discounts, and deductions Partner with sales and operations to ensure accurate revenue data Process Improvement & Collaboration Help build and document scalable accounting processes Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve workflows Support reporting, audits, and ad hoc financial analysis Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 3–6 years of accounting experience (inventory or cost accounting exposure a plus) Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals Experience with month-end close and reconciliations Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Preferred CPA or CMA track Experience in CPG, manufacturing, or high-growth environments ERP experience What We’re Looking For Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company Interested in building and improving processes Strong attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset Enjoys working cross-functionally and taking ownership Benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and professional growth, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and company holidays Employee benefits programs and wellness resources Opportunities for professional development and growth #J-18808-Ljbffr Drink DELTA
