Sales Clerk PT 6804 – Cape Canaveral, FL Part Time (20‑29 hrs per week). Join our team as a Sales Clerk serving the brave men and women of the military and their families! In this dynamic role, you'll provide exceptional customer service, assist with product selection, and ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers.

DUTIES

Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge and help with the selection of merchandise. React quickly to all concerns of customers with a sense of importance. Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, which may require demonstration and/or explanation of technical features of items sold. Take periodic stock counts and may participate in inventory. Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition. Advise supervisor/department head of customer requests. Receive cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards and gift cards in payment for merchandise and give change accurately using the cash register. Maintain record of sales, at the end of shift balance till, turn in sales records, money, stamps, customer checks or charge slip, and account for all monies and items sold. May perform price changes for various departments, either markdowns or mark‑ups, and set company promotions. Primary duty is ensuring that these are properly displayed to the customer, accomplished by proper display and signage as well as changing item labels if necessary. Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention and be aware of shrink and the Alert Line. Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements. Required to work weekends. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum : Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons and operate a cash register, which is shown by the ability to read, comprehend and explain product literature; as well as count, subtract, multiply and divide for stocking and inventory purposes, as evidenced by high school coursework, GED or high school diploma. Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Preferred (in addition to the minimum) : Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
