Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a lasting difference for elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic setting near Elizabeth, NJ. This contract opportunity begins August 31, 2026, and continues through June 17, 2027. You'll work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:45am to 4:00pm, supporting 2nd and 3rd graders with ELA and Math in an Out of Class Resource (OCR) model, while also providing valuable push-in support for select 1st and 2nd graders.
Qualities & Experience We Seek:
- Active DOE Certification required
- Strong background in English Language Arts and Math instruction
- Proven history working with elementary students
- Mastery of classroom management and innovative instructional strategies
- Experience delivering push-in and resource support for diverse learners
- High level of collaboration and communication with teaching teams and administrators
What You'll Do:
- Deliver targeted ELA and Math instruction to small resource groups in grades 2 and 3
- Provide push-in support to 1st and 2nd grade students for inclusive learning experiences
- Develop and implement IEP goals, track student progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a positive classroom climate that encourages participation, growth, and success
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain up-to-date records and comply with all reporting requirements
